Contractor's All Risk policies are offered to engineering contractors and are intended to provide all risk coverage, subject to certain exceptions, in respect of construction works (i.e. buildings, roads, bridges, etc) and extends to include contract plants, machinery and equipment, whether mechanically operated or not plus temporary buildings for use as site offices, etc.

Coverage may also include removal of debris following damage to works and contractor's legal liabilities to third parties for injuries, death and damage to property due to negligence.

Coverage is provided not only during the construction phase but also during a subsequent maintenance period.  Indemnity to the principal and/or employer for bad workmanship, defects, etc is usually by replacement, repair or repayment of the full cost of the damage.
